Greetings to my friends, family, supporters, fellow artists,
I am honored to announce that Austin Creative Alliance (http://AustinCreativeAlliance.org) has selected me as one of their fiscally sponsored projects.
What does this mean? Through an extensive application process, my artistic practice was chosen as one of the projects they see as creating new, community based work that contributes to Austin’s cultural vibrancy. Fiscal sponsorship empowers emerging arts organizations, collaborative projects and individual creatives to access funding with 501(c)3 non-profit status through tax-deductible donations, grants and government contracts. It’s an enormous honor, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity.
This exciting collaboration with Austin Creative Alliance (ACA) will allow me to enhance and expand my work with community projects and volunteer organizations. It will also allow me the opportunity to spend more time focused on developing my body of work and creating fine art pieces with a focus on my indigenous American (Ojibwe) heritage. It has been a dream of mine to be able to devote more time to my creative vision, and exhibit these works publicly. This sponsorship can truly help make it happen!
To kick things off, ACA is sponsoring a fundraising drive from October 26-November 2. “Home Is Where the ARTS Is” will allow the sponsored projects to highlight their work to a broader audience, and kickstart their projects!
I would like to humbly ask for your support. Many of you know the hours and creative energy I expend on each project I take on, and how important it is to me to create art that is truly the best that it can be. I put my heart and soul (and quite often blood, sweat and tears!!) into my work, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. That creative energy can often make magic! I am grateful for this opportunity to be able to move forward with inspiring new work, and exciting new community projects! Your help would mean the world to me, and I am deeply appreciative of any and all support.
